Welcome!

This two-minute, confidential survey is intended to collect public input as we update our Asset Managment Plan

All input received will be shared publicly at an upcoming Council Meeting.

All personal information created, held or collected by the Municipality of South Huron is protected under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).

Where do you reside?

To guide the municipality's work in managing public assets, we are considering what values to adopt:

  • Accessible - Services are available and accessible for customers who require them.
  • Reliable - Services are provided with minimal service disruption and are available to customers in line with needs and expectations.
  • Safe - Services are delivered such that they minimize health, safety, and security risks.
  • Compliant - Services meet regulatory requirements of all levels of government.
  • Affordable - Services are delivered at an affordable cost.
  • Sustainable - Long-term plans are in place to ensure the services are available to all customers into the future.

Like all municipalities in Ontario, South Huron has an infrastructure deficit, which means we are not investing enough each year to maintain our current inventory of assets (roads, bridges, public buildings) in good working condition over the long term.

What is your preferred strategy for managing the infrastructure deficit? (You may select more than one)

Every municipal asset provides a service to our community - roads provide transportation, pipelines provide drinking water, community services provide recreational opportunities, etc.

"Level of service" is a standard for maintaining these assets, so they keep delivering according to our community’s expectations.

A list of proposed levels of service was presented at the March 31, 2025 Committee of the Whole.
